It's likely that Red Sox manager John Farrell will start rookie infielder Xander Bogaerts, maybe the most lauded Red Sox positional player prospect since some dude named Hanley, replacing either Will Middlebrooks at third base or Stephen Drew at shortstop. Now, it's Boston's turn to make some adjustments after Wednesday's stream of men left on base. Without the pressure of hitting leadoff, Austin Jackson, who had barely made any contact this postseason until yesterday, went 2-2 with two walks and two RBI. As a result, the Tigers had their best hitter, Miguel Cabrera, hitting second much to the delight of the sabermetrics crowd who have been pushing this lineup idea for years. Last night, Jim Leyland shifted his order around, dropping down he struggling Austin Jackson ( of #StrikesOut fame) in the lineup to the eight hole and moving the rest of the lineup up.
